Women's Mental Health

Therapy for Neurodivergent Women Who Are Tired of Masking

If you feel like you’ve spent your whole life trying to “keep up” or “fit in” — you’re not alone.

This is a space where you don’t have to explain yourself, hide parts of who you are, or push through burnout just to function.

We work with your brain, not against it.

No pressure. Just a conversation.

“Does This Sound Like You?”

You might be here because:

  •  You feel constantly overwhelmed, even by “simple” things

  •  You’re exhausted from masking or pretending you’re okay

  •  You’ve tried therapy before… but felt misunderstood

  •  You were late diagnosed or you are questioning ADHD / Autism)

  •  You overthink everything and struggle to switch off

  •  You feel like you’re “too much” or “not enough” at the same time

You don’t need to have a diagnosis to belong here.

A Neuro-Affirming Approach

At Divergent Minds Therapy, we believe your mind is not disordered — it’s different.

That means:

  •  We don’t try to “fix” you

  •  We don’t force you into rigid strategies

  •  We don’t expect you to function like everyone else

Instead, we help you:

  •  Understand how your brain actually works

  •  Reduce overwhelm and burnout

  •  Build systems that support your way of thinking yourself

  •  Feel safe being fully

This is collaborative, not clinical.

What We Can Support You With

We commonly support neurodivergent women experiencing:

  •  ADHD (diagnosed or self-identified)

  •  Autism / AuDHD

  •  Chronic overwhelm & executive dysfunction

  •  Anxiety & overthinking

  •  Burnout &shutdown cycles

  •  Low self-worth from years of masking

  •  Trauma & emotional exhaustion

  •  Identity confusion or “late discovery”

You don’t need to fit into a box to get support.

What To Expect

Starting therapy can feel like a lot — so here’s exactly how it works:

1. Reach Out

Fill out a short form or send us a message.
You don’t need the “right words.”

2. Gentle Intro Call
We’ll have a relaxed conversation to see if this feels like a good fit.
No pressure to commit.

3. First Session
If it feels right, we’ll book your first session and go at your pace.
No overwhelm. No expectations.

You Won’t Be Expected To:
  •  Make eye contact if it feels uncomfortable

  •  “Push through” when you’re overwhelmed

  •  Explain your entire life story right away

  •  Be consistent or “perfect” in sessions

  •  Fit into a rigid therapy model

We meet you where you are.

Practical Support (Not Just Talking)

Our work may include:

  •  ADHD-friendly strategies that actually work in real life

  •  Emotional regulation tools that don’t feel overwhelming

  •  Support with routines, energy management, and burnout

  •  Making sense of your experiences without shame

  •  Building self-trust and self-understanding

Everything is adapted to you.

Session Details

  •  50-minute sessions

  •  Online (telehealth via Zoom) or in-person

  •  No referral required

  •  Medicare rebates may be available with a Mental Health Care Plan

If you’re unsure about anything, we can walk you through it.

This Is a Collaborative Space

You are the expert in your experience.

We’re here to support, guide, and help you make sense of things — not to tell you who you should be.

You Don’t Need to Have It Figured Out

You don’t need to be “ready.”
You don’t need a diagnosis.
You don’t need the right words.
You just need a place to start.

✓ Neurodiversity-affirming ✓ No pressure, no judgment ✓ Work at your pace ✓ You are not “too much” here
